As we left for the mountains this afternoon the tranny in my 95 U280 went into constant retard mode and kept my speed down to 45-50 MPH, felt like brakes were on. No indicator lite on retard on/off switch, and red " brake" lite on on dash....... Limped back to house but being friday nite no hope of getting Allison to look at it til Monday. Called James Triana, said sounded like pressure switch inside tranny ... Checked Flluid ...OK No voltage problems....14.4 alt output. No loose wires or visible damage..... Fault codes D1.. 69.. 32.... Any Tranny experts care to chime in ( or other than experts ) ? Thanks, Gary B

A call to Reliable transmission in Forest Park resuted in an hour long discussion with Dave. He dignosed the problem and put us back on road at NO CHARGE... In addition he Emailed me a copy of Allisons repair manual ( almost 500 Pages ). Problem was a fault code in the ECM, it was cleared and did not ( has not ) recurred. May be transient problem, may come back but for now all is working. If anyone wants a copy of the Allison manual I will be glad to Email it to them ( 500 pages ), if you have dial up you may find this a long process. Gary B 95 U280
