I was wondering if anyone has tried the DORAN PRESSURE PRO system. It seems it reads any pressure you choose for your tires and doesn't have to be ordered for a specific pressure like some I've looked at. This would be a big plus if using the same valve stem caps for all tires regardless of where they were located. Happy trails Jim in Las Cruces U320 Foretravel SRV pushing

Jim
As far as I know the PressurePro is the manufacturer. Doran is the same system with a different name. I saw the following post on the RV.Net I think it is a good explanation of the system.
OK, here is how the pressurepro system works when it comes to tire pressure. When you screw a sensor onto the valve stem and it charges with air pressure, that activates the battery and the senor then sends the current tire pressure reading to the monitor. The monitor then records that on a hard chip and sets that pressure as the desired pressure and then sets up its baselines for the 12 and 25% low pressure alerts. You don't have to do anything but program that sensor the first time to the wheel position, the monitor and the sensor do the rest. When you take the sensor off to add air to a tire, after one minute of having no air pressure applied to the sensor it shuts down and zeros out. When you screw it back on the stem it then records your new desired pressure for that tire and the monitor then programs the new base lines for alerts. You don't have to do anything with reprogramming the monitor. If you remove all the sensors while in storage, you will extend the battery life. Just put them in an egg carton, mark the carton front and rear so you know what tire position that sensor is stored in. That way, you can put them back on the RV and toad in the same wheel position you removed them from and you don't need to reprogram anything. Even if the monitor has been unplugged it keeps the stored sensor position setting ready when you put the sensor back on. If you buy a new RV or toad, then just put the sensors on the new equipment in the same wheel position you took them off the one you sold and no programming is needed. All sensors are what I call universal, they work on any tire size or pressure from 10 to 150 psi.
One more item to discuss is sensor signal strength. The sensors send out an FM transmission that has 100Ft line of sight. Like any FM signal, if you put enough stuff in front of it, it can be blocked from getting to the monitor. If this is a problem, try moving the monitor left or right until the problem clears up or install the cabled antenna and play with locations in the RV until you find the "sweet spot" where all signals are being received. We all know that RV's have different floor plans and we also as owners put everything known to man in storage compartments, like freezers, ice makers, tool chests, TV's etc. One item or more can block an FM signal from a wheel position. Hope this helps with the questions

Jim,
Les is 100% correct. If the system monitor or sensors say PressurePro on them, they are all made by Advantage pressurepro. The company that is advertising the special here is a National distributor of Advantage PressurePro systems. Also, the post of the topic that Les put in, is 100% correct. The Tech desk at PressurePro South will answer all you question if you give them a call and you won't get any sales pressure to buy.

OK Thanks guys! I can't find the one I was reading about that you have to order for the specific pressure you are going to run. Maybe it was smart tire...I don't know. Yes this is a little confusing as DORAN claims to be the mfging company out of Cincinnati, OH. When I look at Advantage they don't say anything about being the mfg of the system but show basically the same monitor without the DORAN name on it, and all at the same price. Anyway thanks for the response. Jim in Las Cruces

Jim,
The other one that you may have been reading about is Tire Sentry. Their sensors are tire pressure specific, not like PressurePro's. PressurePro is the only one that can be put on any tire size or air pressure from 10 to 150 PSI. I know that Dorans ads look like they are the manufacture of PressurePro, but I can assure you they are not. Advantage PressurePro, our manufacture started the TPMS technology back in the early 90's and has there Corp office is in Kansas, just outside KC. The Manufacturing facility, Fleetwood Electronics, builds the units up in MI. Doran buys the pressurepro systems from the same person as I do at Advantage PressurePro. We are very familiar with all TPMS systems and will be happy to share the Pro's and Con's if you would like to call us. Tom
